Special Sessions

✓ Call for Proposals is Open

CICE2027 Organizing Committee encourages the organization of Special Sessions to supplement the regular conference program, providing the opportunity to focus on specific emerging topics within the conference's scope. A call for Special Sessions is now open.

Proponents are invited to send an abstract describing the topic and objectives of the Special Session, together with their brief biographies to (with "Special Session Proposal" as the subject) until October 1, 2026.

The abstracts for the Special Session proposals should be prepared following this template, where additional details are provided.

Special Sessions are organized to supplement the regular conference program, offering a platform to explore specific emerging topics within the scope of CICE 2027, namely the following ones:

  • SS01 – Challenges and Opportunities for End-of-Life Fibre Reinforced Polymers in Civil Engineering (promoted by IIFC TG2)

  • SS02 – Advancing FRP in Structural Engineering: A Tribute to Professor Antonio Nanni

  • SS03 – Structural Health Monitoring and Condition Assessment of FRCM-Strengthened Structures
    Organizers: Jaime Gonzalez-Libreros, Niki Trochoutsou, Politecnico di Milano, Georgia Thermou, University of Nottingham
  • SS04 – High-Performance Materials and Innovative Shear Connectors for Steel–Concrete Composite Structures
    Organizers: Xiaoqing Xu, Fengjiang Qin, Yi Shao
  • SS05 – Advanced Manufacturing Techniques for FRP Composites in Construction
    Organizers: Guan Lin, Saverio Spadea, Baolin Wan
Note: Special Session proposals will be evaluated based on the relevance of the topic and the qualifications of the organizer(s). Notification of approval will be made on a rolling basis.
